Research

Innovation, entrepreneurship, and faculty development — IAMR's research ecosystem under the Institution's Innovation Council and MHRD's Innovation Cell.

INSTITUTION'S INNOVATION COUNCIL

Fostering innovation across Higher Education Institutions.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has established MHRD Innovation Cell (MIC) to systematically foster a culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes during their formative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging the creation of Institution's Innovation Councils (IICs) across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation through multiple modes — leading to an innovation-promotion ecosystem on every campus.

5 Focus areas

  • Create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
  • Start-up supporting mechanism in HEIs.
  • Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework.
  • Establish functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas.
  • Develop better cognitive ability for technology students.

7 Functions

  • Conduct innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in a time-bound fashion.
  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
  • Organise workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals.
  • Create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organisations.
  • Build an Institution's Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects.
  • Organise Hackathons, idea competitions, and mini-challenges with involvement of industries.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL

An institutional mechanism for self-employment.

Turning job-seekers into job-creators.

In order to promote and encourage young entrepreneurs, IAMR Group of Institution, Ghaziabad has set up an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) working under a sponsored programme by the Department of Management Studies & Computer Application, Government of India, to develop an entrepreneurial culture among academic institutions.

In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs which leads to unemployment-related problems and lack of efficient utilisation of human resources, the cell strives to identify talented youth for entrepreneurial-related work and organises various programmes on entrepreneurship development.

8 Objectives of the cell

  • 1Train and motivate Management & Technology persons to become Job-Creators rather than Job-Seekers.
  • 2Conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EAC).
  • 3Conduct Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP).
  • 4Conduct Technology-based Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (TEDP).
  • 5Conduct Women Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (WEDP).
  • 6Conduct training programmes in entrepreneurial skill development.
  • 7Provide guidance and facilities to first-time entrepreneurs during gestation.
  • 8Facilitate creation of Entrepreneur Clubs / E-Cells to foster entrepreneurial culture amongst students.

MHRD'S INNOVATION CELL

A complete ecosystem for innovation across HEIs.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has established an 'Innovation Cell' with the purpose of systematically fostering the culture of innovation in all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country.

MIC focuses on creating a complete ecosystem to foster the culture of innovation across all educational institutions — from idea generation to pre-incubation, incubation, and graduating from the incubator as successful start-ups. MIC also works on designing a ranking system to identify institutions in the forefront of innovation.

IAMR students and faculty associated with IICs will have exclusive opportunity to participate in various innovation-related initiatives and competitions organised by MHRD.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Transforming eligibility into capability.

IAMR believes in transformation of eligibility into capability. We constantly focus on academic development programmes — Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), workshops, and journals.

IAMR Business School offers FDPs on emerging issues, evolving concepts, and practices. The approach develops collaboration and appreciation of diversity alongside knowledge delivery. Our faculty members combine academic and industry experience and consider conducting FDPs as core to their own learning.

IAMR, Ghaziabad has a Faculty Development Centre on its campus with classrooms equipped with the latest ICT tools.
